This privacy and security statement discloses the privacy and security practices for the Wisconsin Compensation Rating Bureau (WCRB). We are committed to protecting the privacy of confidential information in our possession.
Information Collection and Use
WCRB is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. WCRB collects personally identifiable information (information not otherwise available for public viewing), when you register for WCRB accounts. This information is used to contact you, the member, about changes to the service and to provide a method for the WCRB to contact the member for communications regarding various products, services, and programs. WCRB also automatically records information on our server logs detailing user activity.
Registration
In order to access members-only features of this Web site, organizations must complete a Group Administrator Web Application.
Sharing
Personally identifiable or sensitive information provided to the WCRB at this site is not disclosed to third parties. However, from time to time, the WCRB may be required by law to disclose personally identifiable, sensitive, non-public financial and insurance claims information to third parties in response to subpoenas, court orders, legal process or in response to the requests of the State Insurance Regulator. In the event that disclosure of such information is required, the member will be notified of the disclosure within a reasonable timeframe, and WCRB will disclose to the party or parties receiving the information that the member has been notified of the disclosure. The functions of the WCRB include compiling financial data, classifying employers and proposing underwriting rules, policy forms, rates and rating plans for worker’s compensation within the state. In order to carry out this function, aggregated insurance and financial data is compiled into various categories and reports. We will share that aggregated insurance and financial data with the State Insurance Regulator, our members, and the public. This aggregated information is otherwise not linked to any personally identifiable, sensitive information, except where expressly requested by the State Insurance Regulator.
Cookies
Cookies are pieces of information that are stored directly on the device that you are using. They allow us to collect information such as the type of browser you are using, which WCRB applications you visit and the preferences you have set up for your account. We use this information for such purposes as to enhance security, facilitate navigation and display material more efficiently. WCRB does not use cookies that capture unencrypted personal information about you.
Third-party disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. We may release information when it’s release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for other uses such as WCRB site search, but are not used for marketing, advertising, or any other uses.

Security
This Web site takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the Web site, your information is protected both online and off-line. The Web site was developed to support secure transactions employing socket layer (SSL) technology. This technology works best when the site is viewed using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. All information that you provide during the site usage is encrypted for your protection. (You will know that you are in an encrypted area when you see a closed lock icon when using Internet Explorer.) This site is also secured by firewalls to ensure that no unauthorized access is permitted. Firewalls are additional safety methods that guarantee that only people who know your ID and Password are able to access your account. You will be required to enter your private User ID and Password each time you access various Bureau applications. You should make sure that you do not share this information with others.
The Secure Site Seal indicates that a digital certificate has been acquired ensuring the secure exchange of encryption keys between your browser and the WCRB web server.
Encryption
Encryption is the process of transforming meaningful information into coded language. Before any information is transmitted, it is transformed into an unrecognizable string of characters to protect the privacy of the information as it is transmitted over the internet.
Correction/Updating Personal Information
If a user's personally identifiable contact information changes, if a member no longer desires our service, or if a member would like to inactivate a user, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update, or remove that user's personal data provided to us. Requests to change or update personal information or to change or inactivate a user or Administrator can be made to the organization’s Group Administrator. Requests to change Group Administrator data must be submitted by e-mailing to
wcrbwebmaster@wcrb.org.
Notification of Changes
If we change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Web site so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we will disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify our users in advance. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. Otherwise, we will use information only in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
